These are original portrait studies painted in a variety of media including oil, pastels and watercolours. I can paint and draw portraits from photographs as well as live sittings here in Perth, Australia. Prices vary from $200 upwards, depending on the type and size required as well as on whether the portrait is to be framed. Every painting I produce is unique. I endeavor to capture the essence of a person, as I hope you can see in the portrait of my friend's son, Aleister, on the right.
To achieve this, and to get a feeling for the subject, who she or he is, to be able to derive a live mental image of the person, I usually prefer to work from a number of informally taken photographs rather than posed studio photographs. However, I have also worked with single images, but then I do need to discuss the subject with you to get a feel for the person's character and how you wish to portray her/him.
